Flexible IOT ecosystem
If refrigeration equipment runs at unsafe temperatures, harmful bacteria can quickly grow in food, this poses a serious risk to consumers’ safety, Health & Wellbeing.
Failure to check and maintain fridge and freezer temperatures can therefore easily lead not only to negative consequences, but prosecution and serious organisational and reputational damage.
The law requires food businesses to keep chilled food at 8 ºC or below. The Food Standards Agency recommend you keep it at 5 ºC or lower, so your food is well within the 8 ºC or lower threshold. It also ensures that every part of the fridge remains at an acceptable temperature.
For freezer temperatures, industry best practice is -18 ºC or lower.
To ensure your equipment is working properly, you should regularly check and record the temperature of your fridges, freezers and chilled display equipment, normally a manual task.
Polar Qi completely automates the temperature food safety management process, providing accurate HACCP temperature records for all refrigeration units, within the establishment.
Alerts are generated and can be sent either by email or text to the kitchen manager or chef when temperatures rise above legal limits.
Refrigeration is acknowledged as an excessively high user of utilities, particularly electricity and by actively managing temperatures, substantial energy cost saving and carbon reduction can easily be achieved
