3Qi are pleased to announce the launch of Q-View our bespoke damp & mould sensors and monitoring system.

Using innovative LoRaWAN technology, we can offer Local authorities, Housing Associations, and other social housing providers a cost-effective monitoring solution, giving “real time” and “over time” data sets and insights into the environmental conditions within dwellings.

Mould growth is primarily caused by excess moisture, high levels of humidity and poor fresh air circulation and within the housing sector it is a known potentially fatal health risk if not resolved.

unfortunately  social housing providers are heavily reliant on surveyors visiting properties, often with time only for a single visit, to survey, inspect and attempt to diagnose the cause of any mould growth. This is an inherently difficult process, especially when the cause is not easily attributable to structural building issues or leaks, but believed to be caused by high levels of condensation and poor air circulation.

By strategically placing sensor/s, (which are aesthetically pleasing and low impact) within a dwelling, our Damp and mould monitoring solution offers social housing providers real time insight into the internal environmental conditions within dwellings, by logging temperature, humidity and dewpoint readings every 15 seconds, with the additional option to also add Co2 and other metrics, allowing the accumulation of accurate evidenced data, which can be used for identification of dwellings at potential risk of mould, or as mitigation against potential claims or actions

With the recent adverse national publicity on mould within social housing, tenants are now certainly more aware of their recourses to law, combined with a rise in no win no fee solicitors now taking on mould cases the costs of defending these claims including any settlement could well prove to be substantial and very difficult to defend, if the organisation has little on no environmental data on record, indeed the housing ombudsman has recorded a 77% increase in mould claims over the last year alone
